Moving to the UK

A few years ago, I decided that I wanted to work overseas. Initially, I thought about doing a PhD in UK (I was especially interested in the University of Edinburgh). At the time I was really invested into research; therefore, it was the next logical step after the MSc. However, tired of the student life and privations I decided to try the private sector in something not related to research.

Eight years later, I have had several different positions from SW Development to Project Management in the automotive sector and I’m far from looking for a PhD (I’m now more interested in a Eng.D.).

Last month I moved to the UK after applying to an internal position in the company I’ve been working for the last few years. The difference? eight years ago I wanted adventure, now I look for something stable and safe. Eight years ago, I didn't have a wife neither three beautiful cats, I only had myself to worry about. Now the challenge is bigger but also the reward.
